Rhodium-catalyzed oxidative amidation of allylic alcohols and aldehydes: effective conversion of amines and anilines into amides
The rhodium-catalyzed oxidative amidation of allylic alcohols and aldehydes is reported. In situ generated [(BINAP)Rh]BF4 catalyzes the one-pot isomerization/oxidative amidation of allylic alcohols or direct amidation of aldehydes using acetone or styrene as the hydrogen acceptor. The conditions are general, affording good to excellent yields with a wide array of amine and aniline nucleophiles,...
متن کاملDirect oxidative amidation of aldehydes with amines catalyzed by heteropolyanion-based ionic liquids under solvent-free conditions via a dual-catalysis process.
A simple and efficient procedure for the synthesis of amides directly from aldehydes and amines catalyzed by heteropolyanion-based ionic liquids under solvent-free conditions has been reported. The practical protocol was found to tolerate a wide range of substrates with different functional groups. Moderate to excellent yields, solvent-free media, and operational simplicity are the main highlig...
متن کاملSolvent-free mechanochemical and one-pot reductive benzylizations of malononitrile and 4-methylaniline using Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridine as the reductant.
Under mechanical milling conditions, direct reductive benzylizations of malononitrile and 4-methylaniline by aromatic aldehydes were achieved using a Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridine as the reductant.
متن کاملA copper-catalysed amidation of aldehydes via N-hydroxysuccinimide ester formation.
A copper-catalysed oxidative amidation of aldehydes via N-hydroxysuccinimide ester formation is reported. The methodology employed to prepare amides directly from aldehydes has a very wide scope, is high yielding, and does not need dry conditions. This cross-coupling reaction appears to be simple and makes use of cheap, abundant and easily available reagents.
متن کاملA simple base-mediated amidation of aldehydes with azides.
A practical and efficient amidation reaction involving aromatic aldehydes and various azides under mild conditions is described. A broad spectrum of functional groups was tolerated, and the amides were synthesized in moderate to excellent yields, presenting an attractive alternative to the currently available synthetic methods.
